Janet puts a bullet through the Fade's foot
and scolds "No man handling women!"
The Fade, alas, Fades anew before the bullet
arrives. He moves to intercept Janet, flicking his sword back and forth through
her hazy body.
“No wasting mankind’s only example of a new
Power!” says the Fade. “One woman is nothing compared to the fate of the world!”
He moves to keep next to Janet, hoping perhaps
to wear out her magic before his own runs out. Or perhaps he is determined to
convince her of his argument.

Sky lets go of his chair, draws his other pistol from his pocket
as he falls, lets gravity carry him downward, and then travels on the diagonal
to a position ten feet or so above the Fade trying to scoop up Miss Tane, and
shoots as he falls, hoping to surprise the creep.
Blamblamblamblam he shoots with both guns with both hands as the plummets out of the sky like an angel of gunpowder.
He'll think of something before he hits the ground.

The Fade does not need to become solid in order to pick up Christine.
Therefore he can melt into the ground and take her with him, irrespective of
Sky’s bullets.
Good thing Sky appeared diagonally, or the bullets would have
passed through him and into her.
However, the Fade was indeed startled to have a man appear almost
in his face shooting like a maniac. He rolls to one side instinctively, and
therefore cannot grab her just yet.
Six men get out of the Model T. All have long guns, either Tommy
guns, shotguns or rifles.

Sonny-boy blows a couple of firing holes in
the wall of the hotel. Now everyone can see a Fade fighting with Janet, another
one dodging Sky’s bullets, the prone Christine Tane, the crouching Michael Bor,
and the six guys getting out of the car.
Kaze undoes a cord from around her arm (under her silk sleeve) and twists it into a complex knot around Shara's arms, while talking to her. She then touches her wing and Fades it out of the wall. Shara seems compliant.
Janet steps through the Fade, trying to leave a handful of rubble in him, picks up Tane and Fades them into the ground and up behind Micheal's car. She is feeling rather exhausted now, and make's quick work to tie up Tane's hands, saying, "I don't want you getting into anymore trouble."
ReplyDelete(Moderator, is it possible for Kaze to take the wing out of the wall? I thought once something was Faded like that it's molecules became fused together with the wall.)
Michael is dragging Christine to safety (to the car, I assume). Do you still want to yank her through the ground?
DeleteBy my count, Janet has Faded five times (into the kitchen, up to second floor, up to third floor, Shara's wing into the wall, down to the street) and she is indeed tired. She's got one more good Fade left in her; running empty partway into a Fade is Not A Good Idea.
Okay she doesn't do the crazy fade thing. She lets Micheal get Tane while she tries to find something long enough to keep sticking through the Fade.
DeleteThe knives from the kitchen are pretty long. Problem is, he's doing the same to you. He's Faded down into the hotel room, had a fight, and Faded down here, so he's GOT to be about to run out of magic, too! Doesn't he?
DeleteBelle lowers her gun and looks around to see who is injured. If there is no one who needs care, she'll stop and check on the fade that fought Kaze, to make sure he is actually dead.

ReplyDeleteSince it was just feathers that Janet faded into the wall rather than wing structure, Kaze will clip them and proceed to tie her and move her into the hallway away from the firefight.
